Jane Adams Drops the Poltergeist Knowledge in New Clip

Doctors, mediums, aficionados, professors of obscure study, experts, parapsychologists, clergy. I love the expository character in any given horror film, the specialists that families consult during a haunting, or a possession, especially when a fantastic performer is brought in for a bit of charisma or oddity. How will the Poltergeist remake stack up? That remains to be seen, but it sure is fortunate that Jane Adams is on the case.

Yahoo! debuted the latest clip from the Gil Kenan-directed, Sam Raimi-produced Poltergeist 2015. It’s a brief one, with Jane Adams’ Dr. Claire Powell filling Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt in on how exactly a Poltergeist operates. It’s no Vincent D’Onofrio emanating weird energy over Skype, or Udo Kier telling the history of Helena Markos, but Adams does have a mean pair of specs. Here’s hoping she gets a lot to do with Jared Harris’ clearly eccentric, giant safety pin-wearing Carrigan Burke.

Poltergeist is out May 22nd. All month long, we’re anticipating it with pieces on remakes. See the first, on 2005’s House of Wax, here
