Pride and Prejudice and Zombies out February 2016

“What is right to be done cannot be done too soon,” wrote Jane Austen in Emma. Now, following a lengthy development process, Seth Grahame Smith’s expansion on Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice, one which injects zombies into the proceedings, is officially a real movie and set for release February 2016.

Directed by Burr Steers and starring Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Suki Waterhouse, Leda Headey, Matt Smith and Sam Riley, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will arrive February 19, 2016 via Sony/Screen Gems.

In the book, “a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield. Can Elizabeth vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry?”
