Gene Simmons and WWE Studios Launch Erebus with Temple

WWE Studios is continuing their efforts in horror, following last year’s in-house productions See No Evil 2 and Leprechaun: Origins (as well as the distribution pick-up Oculus), with Temple, the first of three films which sees the company team with KISS icon and now producer, Gene Simmons.

Temple is written by Matt Savelloni and will “follow a team of highly trained operatives who find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down. While investigating the source of the malfunction, the crew begins to experience strange and horrific phenomena as they attempt to uncover who or what killed the team previously stationed at the compound.”

Simmons, who’s discussed KISS’ look and inspiration as being partly culled from classic monster films, says, “The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences. I am so thrilled to be working with the masterminds from WWE Studios in launching Erebus Pictures.”

Temple will head into production with a director revealed soon. Erebus Pictures’ second feature is expected to shoot later this year.
