Trick ‘r Treat and Krampus Get Graphic Novel Adaptations

As per usual with Legendary Film projects, Michael Dougherty’s beloved Halloween horror anthology Trick ‘r Treat and upcoming Christmas terror Krampus will find themselves expanded into graphic novels this fall.

Legendary announced the books today, with Trick ‘r Treat—its Creepy/Eerie nature likely ripe for this format—out in October and Krampus out in November. The latter will likely be a strong preview and prologue of Doughtery’s film, expected on December 4th.

“I’ve been having way too much fun working with Legendary and the rest of my team bringing the ancient legend of Krampus to the big screen, and I look forward to expanding the film’s dark Christmas mythology onto the comic page. And hopefully the fans who’ve been patiently waiting for Trick ‘r Treat 2 will enjoy this deeper peek into Sam’s world until he finally rises from the pumpkin patch once more. Happy Holidays,” says the writer-director.

Teasing the return of Sam, Trick ‘r Treat offers “four all-new terrifying tales set in the universe of the ultimate Halloween anthology.” Mark Andreyko writes from a story by Dougherty., Zach Shields and Todd Casey. Brandon Seifert writes Krampus from a story by the same. Expect art from Fiona Staples, Zid, Stuart Sayger, Stephen Byrne, Michael Montenat, Stuart Sayger, Maan House and Christian DiBari on the titles.
