Poltergeist 2015 Moves to May

Gil Kenan’s remake of the Steven Spielberg-produced, Tobe Hooper-directed classic hits this spring, instead.

20th Century Fox has shifted the Sam Raimi-produced Poltergeist to May 22, 2015, just two weeks prior to the opening of haunted house sequel Insidious: Chapter 3 and going up directly against the Mark Neveldine-helmed The Vatican Tapes. In the film, starring Rosemarie DeWitt, Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris and Jane Adams, a suburban family moves into a home “haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks  and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.”

The Poltergeist 2015 trailer premiered last month to polarized response, and had Shock writer John Squires ponder the return of kid-friendly horror. See the clip, below.
