Teaser: Gabriel Carrer’s Vigilante Film, The Demolisher

Apart from sporting a mean moniker, Gabriel Carrer’s vigilante film The Demolisher looks impacting and synthy; a hard edged throwback of citywide violence.

The Demolisher is the fourth feature from Carrer, the Canadian indie filmmaker behind If A Tree FallsKill and the Henry Rollins-starring In The House of Flies. In the film, “Bruce (Ryan Barrett) is an ordinary repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife Samantha, an ex-policewoman (Tianna Nori), the survivor of a gang-related assault. Bruce’s increasing hyper-sensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife steer him down a dark path of vigilantism, and with his rapidly disintegrating mental health, paranoia and overwhelming sense of doom, Bruce channels his inner rage towards a young woman Marie (Jessica Vano) and finds refuge in a world of extreme violence.”

You can see the sparse new teaser for The Demolisher, below. On the same YouTube channel, you’ll find selections from the film’s soundtrack, the latest in an ongoing revival of exciting electronic accompaniment. No word on The Demolisher‘s release or screening plans just yet.
