Adam Green’s first feature since Hatchet II, Digging up the Marrow, will receive a roadshow tour the week prior to its VODebut, with plans to hit San Francisco, Boston, New York, Austin and L.A.

Inspired by the artwork of acclaimed illustrator and Mondo regular Alex Pardee, Digging up the Marrow sees Green star as himself, crafting a doc about monster art until he’s contacted by “a mysterious man named William Dekker (Ray Wise). Dekker claims he can prove that ‘monsters are real’ and insists these grotesque creatures are forgotten, hideously deformed humanoids inhabiting a vast, underground metropolis of the damned.”

Digging up the Marrow received a very early sneak at 2013’s Butt Numb-a-Thon in Austin and word toward the monsters was that they were very neat indeed. And that’s not to mention Wise’s performance and appearances by a host of genre regulars and filmmakers including Pardee, Kane Hodder, Tom Holland, Mick Garris, Don Coscarelli, Joe Lynch, Tony Todd and more. The film will hit VOD and limited theatrical on February 20th, before a DVD and Blu bow in March.

Before that however, Green and Pardee will be heading out on tour, bringing “Digging up the Marrow, an audience Q&A, an art exhibit of Alex Pardee’s original artwork that inspired the film, one of their favorite monsters from the film, and exclusive tour merchandise to the following dates and cities:

Thursday February 12th: San Francisco, CA (Landmark Shattuck)

Monday February 16th: Boston, MA (Landmark Kendall Square) Presented by Rock N Shock
