The 2010 novel Monster Republic is being prepped for the big screen. Screen Daily says Komixx Entertainment has tapped writer Miles Chapman to pen an adaptation.
Per the outlet, the story “begins with the evil Dr Lazarus Fry, who is hellbent on world domination and engineers an explosion in a nuclear power plant, patching the victims up with scavenged body parts and creating an army of superhuman soldiers programmed for destruction. But teenage boy Cameron escapes, and joins forces with a band of rebel kids to seek revenge on Fry.”
Chapman’s previous credits include Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone’s Escape Plan.
Ben Horton is the author behind the original Monster Republic books.
