Beyond Fest Video Highlights from the Popcorn Q&A With Jill Schoelen

Beyond Fest here in Los Angeles brought the Jumpcut Cafe and Secret Sixteen into the fold. The trio pulled together a screening of the 1991 film Popcorn and star Jill Schoelen was in attendance for a Q&A moderated by Mike Williamson and Elric Kane.

Williamson came out swinging with the questions, seeking an answer to: Did Bob Clark ghost direct Popcorn. I didn’t get Schoelen’s response on video below, but she more or less admitted that the director of Black Christmas has a heavy hand in its direction. The actress said that writer Alan Ormsby is preparing a book that will feature a tell-all chapter on the making of Popcorn that will clarify a lot of fan speculation.

Here are some video highlights from the Q&A. I apologize for the quality, it’s a little rough around the edges, but it gets the job done. A special edition of Popcorn is arriving on Blu-ray early next year, it will be far better-looking than what I pulled together here in a jiffy, I assure you.

Beyond Fest took place September 25th to October 4th at the Egyptian Theater and showcased a slew of new and old films. For our coverage of the event, click here.
