The Next Stuart Gordon-Directed Play is Coming to Los Angeles and It Sounds Delicious

Based on a shocking true story, two men meet online and make a unique arrangement: one will kill, cook, and eat the other. Taste imagines their first and only meeting, told in real time, in a working kitchen.

The play was penned by Benjamin Brand; Gordon is directing. A notice that floated our way came with an admonition: Due to strong sexual content and imagery, no one under the age of 18 will be admitted.

Taste stars Chris L. McKenna as Vic, the man who has chosen to be eaten. He was last seen onstage in Re-Animator: The Musical and played the title role in Gordon’s film King of the Ants. Donal Thoms-Cappello is Terry, the gourmet cook with a taste for the bizarre. A company member of Sacred Fools Theater, Donal was seen last season in Watson and the Dark Arts of Harry Houdini as the famous escape artist.

Special effects will be provided by Tony Doublin, who won an LA Drama Critics Award and LA Weekly Award for creating the wonders of the Splash Zone for Re-Animator The Musical. Gabe Bartalos, best known for his film work with director Frank Henenlotter and Matthew Barney’s Cremaster Cycle, will provide special makeup effects.
