The film is a live-action big screen adaptation of the children’s horror series.
According to a previous report: “Black will play Mr. Shivers, a Stine-like author whose scary characters literally leap off the page, forcing him to hide from his own creepy creations. Rush will play Black’s quirky and mysterious niece, who teams up with her young male neighbor to battle the monsters unleashed from Mr. Shivers’ works.”
While straight-to-video versions of the R.L. Stine book series have been made, the project will mark the first feature adaptation of the series and could become a franchise for Columbia.
The “Goosebumps” series have grossed hundreds of millions for Stine and Scholastic, second only to the “Harry Potter” series.
