It has been a bumpy journey for Where the Devil Hides' journey to the big screen. Shot in 2012 under the moniker The Occult, the film surfaced once when we learned of a title change to The Devil's Rapture and then again in early 2013 when it popped up at CinemaCon under the title Where the Devil Hides. At the time, we received some poster art and were informed we would see the film in the fall of 2013.
That never happened, obviously.
With the European Film Market in full swing, we're discovering that the film – which stars Rufus Sewell and Jennifer Carpenter – is now looking for a home. It was shot for LD Entertainment who has released films like The Collector, but it appears it is no longer handling the distribution of Where the Devil Hides. So, the wait continues…
Christian E. Christiansen (The Roommate) directs.
Here's the synopsis: There’s a prophecy in the small village of New Bethlehem that on the eve of every girl’s 18th birthday, the devil might inhabit her soul. Now as that day approaches, six girls, all born on the sixth day of the sixth month begin to mysteriously disappear one by one. Could this be the hands of a crazed serial killer, a village elder or the horrific prophecy come true…the work of the devil?
