Television seems to be where it is at for all things witch-related. American Horror Story: Coven, Witches of East End, the upcoming Salem… Witches cannot be stopped. And it doesn't look like this sub-genre of horror is going to end soon. THR reports another Salem witch trail-inspired series is in development at HBO.
This one will come to us from Jenji Kohan, creator of Weeds and the Netflix hit Orange is the New Black.
According to the outlet:
The untitled Salem period drama explores the circumstances surrounding one of the most compelling chapters in American history, when intolerance and repression set neighbor against neighbor and led a town to mass hysteria.
Sounds awfully similar to WGN's aforementioned Salem spearheaded by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon. No doubt Kohan will put her own stamp on things…
