ShockTillYouDrop.com and the organizers behind Cinefamily‘s Friday Night Frights are co-hosting a 35mm screening of The People Under the Stairs. And, get this, I’ve spoken to writer-director Wes Craven and he’ll be swinging by for a post-screening Q&A!
I’ve always considered this one of the better films to come out of the bleak early-’90s. The People Under the Stairs packs menace, weirdness, wit and a potent portrait of class warfare waged in a house owned by one whacked-out couple played by Everett McGill (“Damn buckshot!”) and Wendy Robie.
Our screening will take place at Cinefamily on Sunday, October 20th at 7:30pm. As I said, a Craven Q&A will follow.
