Michael was disturbed from a young age. He murdered his sister before he was old enough to drive. That an iconic horror killer would be born of a William Shatner mask with the face painted white may have seemed unlikely when the film debuted in 1977. But, 35 years and seven sequels (six of which featured Myers) later, the legend lives on. Halloween is the holy grail of slasher films. It’s a masterpiece.
The curious thing about the Michael Myers role is that it was played by several different people in the original film. Even late producer Deborah Hill donned the jump suit and mask at one point during the production process.
