Stephanie Greco (pictured, Chemical Peel) will star as Penny, who is convinced by her friend Craig, played by Graham Denman (Sick Girl), to give him a private tour of the infamously haunted Whaley House.
Not only is the script super-scary, but I have the opportunity to play such a wonderfully written character, which is an actors dream, says Greco. Whats funny is that the house were shooting at is actually really haunted and Im the biggest scaredy cat youll ever meet, so lets just say Ill be sleeping with the lights on for a while!
Along for the ride is Jake, Pennys boyfriend, play by Alex Arleo (Celebrity Sex Tape) and her best friends Vanessa, played by Arielle Brachfeld (The House That Jack Built), and Giselle, played by Carolina Groppa (Nannyland).
Its a great, layered script about one of the most haunted places in America, and I have the pleasure of working with some of the greatest people, says Brachfeld. Blood, guts, and ghosts! Hell yes, Im excited. Ive been so excited to work on this movie that Ive had to wear a diaper!
Once at the house they are joined by Craigs cousin Ray, played by Jason Owsley (Spooks), who happens to be a huge ghost-hunting enthusiast, and world-renowned psychic Keith Drummond, played by Howard McNair (The Complex). They tag along to see if the house is really as haunted as they say it is and needless to say, they all get a definitive answer.
This is my dream cast, says writer/director Jose Prendes. Everyone is so incredibly talented and focused and amazing. I couldnt ask for a better bunch of guys to point a camera at! To elevate a horror movie you need likable characters and competent actors who the audience can get behind. Mission accomplished, as far as Im concerned.
Cameras begin rolling on The Haunting of Whaley House tomorrow. It’s expected to be released this July.
