Winstead Peers into The Darkness, Olsen is Therese Raquin

First, Mary Elizabeth Winstead will star in The Darkness for director Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism).  The actress – who appears in the upcoming Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter – will play, according to Variety, “an American student looking after her tutor’s two children in a remote English manor house. She soon comes to believe that she and the children are being haunted when their lives are threatened by mysterious events.”

Shooting begins this year in Europe.  After the jump, learn about Elizabeth Olsen’s latest project.

Olsen – star of next month’s release Silent House – joins Tom Felton and Glenn Close in Therese Raquin, says Deadline.

Written and directed by Charlie Stratton, Deadline adds, “Close is attached for the role of Madame Raquin, and Olsen for Therese, who, with her lover Laurent, murder her husband (Felton), a sick boy that Madame Raquin forced Therese to marry. After Therese later marries her true love, the couple is haunted by the ghost of the dead husband and it poisons their love into all-consuming hatred.”
