As cameras continue to roll on the Alexandre Aja-produced remake of Maniac, confirmation has come in regarding a new cast member who is taking a motherly role opposite Elijah Wood’s titular killer.
A quick glance over at the IMDb yields more information. Apparently Olivo will play “Frank’s mother” (Frank being Elijah Wood) in the film.
The actress previously starred in Bitch Slap. That was followed by the 2009 redo of Friday the 13th, Circle and Neighbor.
Principal photography began in Lost Angeles last week on Maniac, which Aja scripted with Grégory Levasseur. In the film, Wood plays the owner of a mannequin shop who uses the Internet to prowl for, and ultimately kill, women.
