Neil Marshall may have secured his latest directing vehicle. If negotiations go well, he will be working alongside The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd on a new horror picture set at a location brimming with possibilities.
Marshall – who landed on the genre map with The Descent – is currently in talks to helm CBS Films’ Hellfest.
Scripted by William Penick and Chris Sey, the film might begin shooting early next year. When we caught up to Hurd a few weeks back she told us the film “takes place at – one of the places that scares me the most – one of those Halloween theme parks, like what Universal does, or Knott’s Scary Farm. That inspired the story: What if one of those people running around wasn’t acting?”
A masked killer running loose in a Halloween haunted attraction. Knowing Marshall, a lil’ ultra violence is on the way.
Naturally, CBS Films has “franchise” in mind. More as it develops.
