Two Bits: Warner Bros. Picks Up Hidden, Goldman on Peregrine

Two pieces of news we’ll cram into a single news item since they’re so short…

Warner Bros. has picked up the script Hidden from newcomers Matt and Ross Duffer. The Duffers will also direct the film which, according to Variety, is described as “an elevated horror-thriller about a family hiding in a bomb shelter after escaping a mysterious outbreak.”

Elsewhere, Deadline says Jane Goldman has been tapped to adapt “Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children” – a novel Tim Burton is reportedly circling. Goldman’s credits include X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass.

Written by Ransom Riggs, the book tells of a man who revisits an orphanage on a remote island that once housed children with special abilities. Now, abandoned, the orphanage is in disrepair, however, this man suspects the children – who may have been put in the home because they were dangerous – might still be around.
