Director of The Devils, Altered States
Director Ken Russell has passed away at the age of 84.
According to various sources, he died peacefully in a hospital on Sunday in the wake of a series of strokes.
The filmmaker directed the controversial 1971 film The Devils and, later, Altered States (pictured), The Lair of the White Worm and Gothic. In 2006, the genre saw his return with the anthology film Trapped Ashes in which he helmed the segment “The Girl With the Golden Breasts.”
