Status report on sequel
The web was buzzing when Shock dished the news that David Cronenberg had penned a sequel to his remake of The Fly.
Here’s the rub: In an update at Indiewire, Cronenberg told them, “I wrote a script and at the moment Fox is not wanting to do the project.”
So, Fox has passed…for now.
I thought for sure, given the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: First Class, that the studio would feel confident in taking some more risks on potentially strong projects. But…there you have it.
