This party clown is out for revenge
Fantastic Films and MPI Media Group along with the Irish Film Board today announced Stitches, a horror comedy film to be directed by Conor McMahon, the writer-director of Disturbed, Dead Meat and the TV series Zombie Bashers, is green lit for production.
Dublinâs Fantastic Films, run by John McDonnell and Brendan McCarthy, has produced many successful genre films, including Hammer Films’ Wake Wood and Outcast.
Principal photography will begin mid-November in Ireland. The cast of rising young actors includes popular British Comedian, Ross Noble and Tommy Knight of Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. The film is also being produced with finance help from the Irish Film Board.
Stitches is the macabre story of Richard ‘Stitches’ Grindle, a jaded workaday kids’ birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that’s just not for kids. Stitches falls victim to a fatal party mishap at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later, the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honor, returning to avenge his untimely death.
