Mother gets revenge on a blogger
Last year, filmmakers Mark and Jay Duplass had their first mainstream hit with their dramedy Cyrus, starring Jonah Hill, John C. Reilly and Marisa Tomei, while their next movie Jeff Who Lives at Home starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms is already in the can, waiting for Paramount to release it later this year. According to the L.A. Times, the Duplass Brothers are already out and about doing the rounds with their new script Pitchfork.
The movie would return them to the genre fare of their second movie Baghead as it’s a dramatic revenge thriller about the middle-aged mother of an indie rocker killed in a car crash after a blogger (presumably from the rock blog Pitchfork) says snarky things about him. Her vengeance on the accomplice in her son’s death is cut short when she learns he’s only a teenager.
The story says that the movie may re-team the Duplasses with their Cyrus star Jonah Hill, though surely he’s getting a little old to play a teenager. One of the names mentioned in the story in the juicy role of the mother is Susan Sarandon. It would be the duo’s third movie in a row that deals with mother and son relationships.
