Where Does Demeter Fit on David Slade’s Schedule?

Focusing efforts on Daredevil?

Putting his work on Twilight behind him, David Slade is now focusing on the future…and he has a lot of options in front of him.

To take a bit of rumor control into his own hands, he addressed the various projects he’s close to. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much to say about a Dracula film he was expected to do:

The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley want to do it, so do I,” he told his Twitter disciples.

The film is set up at Phoenix Pictures and is based on a chapter in Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” describing the arrival of the vampire count in England on a cargo ship that has crashed into the rocks at Whitby with no crew and the dead captain lashed to the steering wheel.

Slade made news last week when it was announced he would re-boot Daredevil. When Darren Aronofsky dropped out of Wolverine, speculation began as to whether Slade might slip into the director’s chair as he was also considered by 20th Century Fox to take the helm before Aronofsky came in.

Slade cleared the air about those rumblings: Wolverine, there have been no discussions about this project to date.”

Chances are, Demeter will rest on the back burner yet again while Slade directs Daredevil. Demeter star Rapace is deep into work on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.
