Bits ‘n Bloody Pieces Evening Edition: More Scream 4 Viral, Robert Kirkman, American Vampire

The Closet, Alien & other DVD updates

Bits ‘n Bloody Pieces is a quick look at stuff we might have missed, viral-related promotions or items that do not necessarily warrant their own news item.

• Robert Prescott is back, posting yet another press clipping on Sidney Prescott’s Facebook page, further building the viral mystery around Scream 4. The latest snippet looks like a preview for Stab, starring Tori Spelling playing…Sidney Prescott.

• The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman talked to G4 about the upcoming video game based on his hit comic series and television show.

“With the episodic nature of how they make the game, they can make a level and release a level, then make another level and release that level, so the game should come out in pretty rapid succession because of that … You’ll be playing as characters from The Walking Dead for sure, and different levels you’ll play as different people, so we’ll see.”

• Sint, Trollhunter, Grave Encounters, Rabies and more topline the genre programming at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

• Brad Anderson’s Vanishing on 7th Street will arrive on DVD and Blu-Ray May 17.

• Marcus Dunstan, Patrick Melton and Stephen Romano get into a lengthy discussion about film noir and horror over at Mullholland Books, the publisher of their upcoming novel “Blacklight” (more on that here).

• Robin McLeavy will play Abe Lincoln’s mother in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The actress also appears in the Australian thriller The Loved Ones.

• Cover art for Vertigo’s “American Vampire” #16 – hitting stands in June – has been revealed. One piece of art is below, click here for more.

• If you didn’t have the break to buy that Alien Anthology Blu-Ray set, or, if you just didn’t want to own Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection, you’ll be able to buy them separately on May 10.

• Bryan Singer’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Apt Pupil arrives on Blu-Ray for the first time June 7.

• Filmmaker Drew Daywalt has a new fright short out, it’s called The Closet. Give it a whirl! Daywalt was a former guest of Shock Till You Drop’s Choice Cuts.
