Troy Nixey’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark was a victim of Miramax’s transition from Disney to its new owners, Colony Capital.
Produced by Guillermo del Toro and shot in Australia in 2009 with stars Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce, this remake of the television chiller of the same name was originally scheduled to open in January.
The new release date now is August 12.
Miramax is partnering with FilmDistrict to get the film out there. Check out the effective teaser trailer below.
