Poe is Hot in Hollywood, TV Show Pilot Ordered Up

Upcoming crime procedural show

Between Stuart Gordon’s play Nevermore and James McTeigue’s The Raven and Francis Ford Coppola’s Twixt Now and Sunrise, Edgar Allan Poe is becoming a go-to protagonist for Hollywood.

The author is the subject of a new television pilot recently set up at ABC. The show, entitled Poe, is described by Deadline as “a crime procedural following Edgar Allan Poe, the world’s very first detective, as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston.”

So, not only are we getting Poe, but we’re combining that with a presently hot setting in films and television today, Boston.

Kyle XY‘s Chris Hollier penned the script.

Question: When is H.P. Lovecraft going to have his day? Will it take Guillermo del Toro and At the Mountains of Madness to get Hollywood’s attention?
