Maybe…maybe not
Mid-2009 was the last time we heard any rumblings about Behind the Mask 2.
That was when the co-writer of the original film, directed by Scott Glosserman, David Stieve said there was “concrete interest” in the sequel which spurred Stieve and Glosserman to hash out plot details.
Today, Dread Central reports that a script is close to completion – believable since Glosserman is now in post on his thriller The Truth Below for MTV and may have some more time on his hands. Furthermore, cameras could roll on the Mask sequel in 2011.
A couple of questions, though: Will Anchor Bay, distributor of the first film, fund the project? If not? Who will? And is financing in place? These are all things to consider if you’re getting jazzed for a follow-up to Glosserman’s 2006 film which deconstructed slasher films.
Much like the upcoming Scream 4, what more could Glosserman comment on about genre?
