Screenwriter expresses interest in directing
Preacher, an adaptation of the Vertigo comic book, will happen. It’s just a matter of time. Someone will crack it. Find the right format (television or film). And make it happen. With who? Unknown. So many writers and directors have come and gone.
Presently, John August is on script duties. Sam Mendes is not attached. Producer Neal Moritz tells Collider they’re out to someone new, however. Moritz also says he hopes shooting will begin sometime in 2011. There’s not much else to say in the Collider report other than August expressed interest in directing himself.
And so, the development continues…
Like I said, it’ll happen. Sometime.
