Timing is off on this one
It looks like the release date reshuffling of Piranha 3D has screwed with the plans of those DVD distributors hoping to cash in on the familiarity. The Alex Aja-directed remake was due this April until it was delayed to August 27.
Shout! Factory bumped its upcoming Piranha Special Edition DVD and Blu-Ray. Can’t say the same for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment who are re-issuing James Cameron’s Piranha II: The Spawning on DVD April 20.
Sony first released the title in 2003. It has since been out of print. Updated cover art is not in yet, however, we know there will be no notable special features other than a trailer.
