Hitting the stage this winter
28 Days Later director Danny Boyle is taking a brief break from filmmaking to bring “Frankenstein” to the stage.
The National Theatre in England will host his adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel, penned by writer Nick Dear, later this year.
Director of the National, Sir Nicholas Hytner, says this take on the tale is a “large-scale and theatrically and visually ambitious stage production.”
“Danny first talked about this eight years ago and it has taken him eight years,” he adds. “He said he was coming back to the theatre after being distracted by 15 years of film-making.”
