Final Destination Versus Halloween 2!

Death and Myers battle at the box office

Yikes. Someone’s got balls at Warner Bros./New Line and they’re lookin’ for a box office fight. The studio’s late-summer horror release Final Destination: Death Trip 3D shifted into an August 14th debut from its original August 21st slot. But now it’s being pushed back to August 28th…

…a weekend reserved by Dimension Films for Michael Myers.

Yes, the 28th is the release date for Rob Zombie’s H2 (aka Halloween 2) so this is going to get very interesting. Will Warner Bros./New Line shift again? Or are the Weinstein brothers going to flinch – as they have done in the past (see: Primeval vs. Rogue) – and bump Zombie’s sequel further down the line? What Final Destination has is the prospect of a fun time at the movies in 3-D. But, audiences may be curious to see in which direction Zombie steers ol’ Mikey Myers next.
