Reeves on Let the Right One In Remake

He might relocate the film to Colorado

Overture Films would do well to strike while the iron is hot on their redo of Let the Right One In. Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves is attached to write and direct and, as he tells MTV, it may very well be his next project.

“Overture wants it as soon as possible,” he tells the site. “They would love me to do it next so that’s what we’re shooting for at the moment.”

He also reveals he’ll likely set the film in Colorado to take advantage of the snow locale similar to Tomas Alfredson’s Swedish import which looks at a young boy’s relationship with a vampire.

“The movie and the book are incredibly Swedish yet there’s something so universal about the tale of this kid and something that in the context of an American story could be completely different while being very consistent with the original story,” says Reeves. “There’s something about it that can be an American mythic tale.”
