Famke Janssen on Eric Red’s 100 Feet

Actress suffers house arrest, dead hubby

Out promoting her latest film Turn the River, Famke Janssen (House on Haunted Hill, the X-Men trilogy) spoke with ShockTillYouDrop.com a bit about 100 Feet, written and directed by Eric Red.

Comparatively speaking, the actress says 100 finds her carrying the film along moreso than River in terms of screen time. “I just saw [the film] for the first time. I don’t think there’s actually a second when I’m not on screen if I remember it correctly,” she laughs. And that’s totally understandable given the film finds her at the center of a supernatural potboiler where she plays a woman under house arrest for killing her husband (played by Michael Paré).

“[It’s] out of self-defense, and he was a cop, and his best friend, Bobby Cannavale, who’s also a cop, is watching, he’s bringing me back into the house, putting me under house arrest. I have an ankle bracelet, I can’t move [out of] a hundred feet parameter,” Janssen explains. “And then being back in the house, a bunch of weird – in the beginning, inexplicable – things are happening, and then at some point, she is faced with the fact that the only explanation there is is that the house must be haunted by the dead husband. And so it’s a lot of me in the house going through horrible stuff.”
