Pinhead and Kong face-to-face
Here’s an update on an announcement made back in May that doesn’t warrant a full news piece, but it is worth noting: It appears Sony is handing “Cottage” distribution duties over to their genre arm Screen Gems.
Sony Pictures has snatched up the North American rights to Paul Andrew Williams’ UK flick The Cottage – a tale of terror said to have a dark comedic streak.
The screaming and laughter begins when two kidnappers venture off to the countryside with the daughter of an underworld boss. A psycho farmer puts a crimp in their plans. Andy Serkis (King Kong), hottie Jennifer Ellison (Phantom of the Opera), Reece Shearsmith (“The League of Gentlemen”) and Hellraiser‘s Doug Bradley lead the cast.
Williams – who helmed London to Brighton in 2006 – is rolling cameras on the film now; he apparently prepped some early footage for buyers to view at Cannes.
