Wizard, Mulberry Distribution

Media 8 steps up

Jeremy Kasten’s Wizard of Gore remake and the recent Tribeca Film Fest creeper, Mulberry Street, have both been taken into the loving arms of Media 8 (Monster, Running Scared). The distro house now holds the international rites for both films and plans to put them on the market at the Cannes Film Festival.

This bodes well for “Gore” – an update of H.G. Lewis’ splatterfest written by Zach Chasller and starring Kip Pardu (Rules of Attraction), Bijou Phillips (Hostel: Part II), Crispin Glover (Willard) and Brad Dourif (Rob Zombie’s Halloween). Until now we’ve heard very little about the film since it wrapped production last year (with a handful of Suicide Girls frolicking around set). Still, there’s no word yet on domestic distribution but we hear an announcement is imminent.
