General Hospital will mark the return of two recurring characters linked to the Ashford family next month. They will play key roles in the storyline surrounding Curtis, who is at a crucial point in his life as he juggles entering a new chapter of fatherhood while dealing with ongoing legal troubles.
Two major General Hospital actors are reprising their roles
Gossett and Jackson, who play their characters in a recurring capacity, return to General Hospital in July. Gossett’s Marshall Ashford first debuted in November 2021. Subsequently, the show placed the actor on contract the following April before he reverted to recurring status in 2024. He is the father of Curtis and a key member of the Ashford family.
In 2024, Marshall left Port Charles to tour as a musician, but he has visited his family multiple times since then, most recently in December 2025. Now, however, he returns at a crucial time in his son’s life. Curtis is expecting a baby with his estranged wife, Portia. On top of that, he faces a legal battle after punching Portia’s boyfriend, Isaiah, leading to his arrest.
Additionally, Curtis strongly believes that Isaiah drove the car that caused a distracted Jordan to crash into a guardrail, leaving her with significant facial injuries. During their heated argument, Curtis struck Isaiah and injured his hand. As a result, Isaiah, a surgeon, may have lost the ability to operate and intends to take Curtis to court.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s Quinn first debuted in November 2024 as Kai’s football-playing PCU friend. He last appeared in February 2025, and is now reprising the role over a year after his previous appearance. During his final screentime, Quinn lashed out at Trina after Kai sustained a career-ending injury. Specifically, he believed that she divided Kai’s focus, which ultimately got him hurt (via Soap Opera Digest).
