Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 Ending Explained: What Happens to Benedict & Sophie?

Bridgerton Season 4 returned with the second half of its episodes, concluding the story of Sophie and Benedict, which has become one of the most memorable arcs in the series so far. The final four episodes raised the stakes and ended on a positive note for most of the characters.

Do Benedict and Sophie end up together in Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2?

The first half of Bridgerton Season 4 left Sophie and Benedict in a complicated position after he asked her to be his mistress. Sophie refused, even though Benedict argued it was the only way they could be together while navigating social expectations.

Their argument escalates, and they ultimately sleep together. However, this leads Sophie to decide to leave, raising Victoria’s suspicions. Violet begins investigating Sophie’s background and discovers that she is an illegitimate child.

Violet attempts to persuade Benedict to reconsider his feelings for Sophie, but it becomes increasingly clear that he is falling in love with her. Anthony also warns him about the possibility of exile, but Benedict appears prepared to face the consequences. At Hyacinth’s recital, Benedict confronts Violet and Lord Anderson, accusing Violet of hypocrisy. Violet then recognizes the depth of Benedict’s feelings and decides to help him.

Meanwhile, Sophie prepares to leave for the Americas. Before she can depart, Araminta has her arrested, claiming that Sophie stole her diamond shoe clips. Benedict and Violet secure Sophie’s release on bail. Sophie tells Benedict that she is the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, and Benedict believes the Earl may have left something for her in his will.

With Eloise’s assistance, Sophie sneaks into the former Penwood estate to locate her father’s will. The document reveals that Araminta was paid £4,000 for each year Sophie remained in the house. The Earl had also divided an equal dowry among Sophie, Posy, and Rosamund. Araminta had taken Sophie’s share.

By the conclusion, after the revelations come to light, Violet suggests presenting a mutually beneficial story. Sophie is introduced to Queen Charlotte as a cousin of Rosamund and Posy, officially becoming part of the Penwood family.

The closing scene shows Benedict and Sophie marrying, bringing their storyline to a happy resolution.

All the episodes of Bridgerton Season 4 are now streaming on Netflix.
