Scrubs Revival: Which Original Cast Members Are Returning For Season 10?

Ever since Scrubs showrunners announced a revival, fans have been wondering which of the original cast members are reprising their roles. Since the reboot is close to its launch, details about returning actors are now available.

Here’s who’s coming back for Scrubs’ Season 10.

List of original Scrubs cast members returning for the revival

Premiering on October 2, 2001, Scrubs quickly became one of the most beloved medical sitcoms of the early 2000s. It ran for eight seasons, ending on May 6, 2009. Later that year, a spin-off-like ninth season aired, but it was not well-received. It featured only a few original cast members and took place more than a year after the Season 8 finale.

Now, in 2026, Scrubs is returning for its tenth season with two back-to-back premiere episodes on Wednesday, February 25, on ABC. According to Deadline, it will pick up the story 16 years after Season 8, ignoring Season 9 for now. Several familiar faces will reprise their roles as series regulars, including Zach Braff as Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian, Sarah Chalke as Dr. Elliot Reid, and Donald Faison as Dr. Christopher Turk.

The revival will also bring back recurring characters such as Nurse Carla Espinosa, played by Judy Reyes, and Dr. Perry Cox, portrayed by John C. McGinley, though with less screen time. They will reportedly appear in a total of four and three episodes, respectively.

Season 10 will reunite J.D. and Turk at Sacred Heart Hospital after years apart. Due to the massive time jump, Turk and Carla will now have four children. Meanwhile, J.D. and Elliot will have two. Additionally, the nine-episode installment will feature guest appearances by Neil Flynn as the Janitor and Christa Miller as Jordan.

As per the show’s co-creator, Bill Lawrence, if Scrubs is renewed for Season 11, Ken Jenkins, who played Dr. Bob Kelso, will return next year. “Dr. Kelso will be back next year. It just didn’t work out this year, but it will next year,” he explained.

Lawrence also briefly addressed whether the cast of Season 9, which included Eliza Coupe, Michael Mosley, Dave Franco, and Kerry Bishé, might return. “I would do it in a heartbeat because they’re such great performers,” the Emmy-winning writer said.

“I’m a TV fan, I enjoy watching Scrubs uber fans’ brains melt a little bit. So, I would be open to anyone coming back. Just this first year, nine episodes is such a tiny cup of coffee, we jammed in everybody we possibly could,” Lawrence added.
