Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby, said the storyline felt exciting and emotional. Speaking on Soap Opera Digest, she laughed, “One of the most fun parts of being on a soap opera is getting to act out things that you wouldn’t — hopefully — normally get to experience in real life. So just being able to have a storyline and have it be something that’s this juicy and meaty is pretty exciting.”

Dominic made it back home, but many fans are now asking if Abby will forgive Mariah for what she did. “Anything is possible in Genoa City,” Ordway said with a laugh. But she admitted it would be very hard. “As a mom myself, it would be really hard for me to forgive someone that took my kid.”

She explained that what hurts Abby most is not just the kidnapping, but Mariah’s plan to run away and become Dominic’s new mother. “I mean, that would be very hard to get over, even though I’m sure Abby will someday be able to forgive her.”

The actress added that Abby knows Mariah is not mentally well. “It’s hard, because you want to forgive someone because it’s like, ‘Oh, they’re not well right now. It’s not the Mariah that I know.’ But then, at the same time, it still happened. So how do you get past it? It’s very complicated.”

The storyline also brings back their old rivalry. When Mariah first came to town, she and Abby did not get along. Ordway remembered how they once hated each other and fought over Tyler. That history could come back into play.

No matter what happens next, Ordway said she is excited to see how the storyline unfolds.
