Has Lead Children Season 2 Been Canceled or Renewed?

Shortly after the recent release of Lead Children on Netflix, fans are eager to know whether the series will be renewed for Season 2. This Polish drama presents a compelling true story of bravery and determination, showcased by a young doctor in the 1970s. So, will Netflix decide to bring it back for another installment?

Here are all the details.

Has Netflix canceled Lead Children or renewed it for Season 2?

Netflix has not officially announced whether Lead Children will return with Season 2. There has been no report of cancellation either.

Lead Children (Ołowiane dzieci) is a Polish medical drama that premiered on February 11, 2026 on Netflix. The streaming platform has not confirmed whether a second season is in the works. However, since the show is a miniseries based on historical events, it is unlikely that another season will happen. As of now, Netflix has not shared any official update regarding Lead Children’s renewal status.

Directed by Maciej Pieprzyca, Lead Children is based on true events that took place in Silesia during the 1970s. It centers on a Jolanta Wadowska-Król, a young female doctor, who goes head to head with communist authorities to save the lives of young children.

When Jolanta realizes that the mysterious disease that is threatening the lives of these kids is actually related to the smelter operation of Szopienice, she takes matters into her own hands. Defying the authorities, the doctor does what is necessary to ensure the safety of these children and their families.

The series documents the courage and determination of Dr. Wadowska-Król and explores the harsh realities of class disparity and oppressive political figures that Upper Silesia faced in the 70s.

Lead Children stars Joanna Kulig as the protagonist Jolanta Wadowska-Król. Other cast members of the show include Agata Kulesza, Kinga Preis, Michał Żurawski, Marian Dziędziel, Zbigniew Zamachowski, and Sebastian Pawlak.
