Why There’s No New A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode Today

Viewers are curious about why there is no new episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms airing this Sunday. Created by Ira Parker and George R. R. Martin, the fantasy drama takes place when the Targaryen line is still the owners of the Iron Throne. It centers on Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, as they travel across Westeros. They embark on thrilling adventures and face dangerous enemies. Since Episode 4 did not follow the show’s usual release schedule, many viewers are eager to know the reason.

Why A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms didn’t release a new episode today

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4 was supposed to drop on February 8, 2026, but was preponed to Friday, February 6, due to the Super Bowl.

HBO released the new episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms two days ahead of its original schedule to avoid clashing with Super Bowl LX. The biggest sporting event saw the match between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks as they battled for the NFL championship. The Seahawks defeated their opponents 29-13, taking home the win.

Apart from the Super Bowl commercials and movie trailers, fans also got to experience the official Apple Music Halftime Show, headlined by six-time Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny. It is to be noted that the episode’s release window was changed only for this week. The series will be back on schedule next week, releasing Episode 5 on February 15, 2026.

Episode 4, titled “Seven,” featured Dunk grabbing the attention of the Targaryens. He further requested his right to a trial by combat. The upcoming episode, “In the Name of the Mother,” finds Dunk drawn to a vision of a better future. The latest season will conclude on February 22, 2026.
