The Young and the Restless has cast Ethan Ray Clark as Dominic Winters. The role was previously played by twins Rainn and River Ware for around three years, from 2021 to 2024. Dominic is the son of Abby Newman and Chance Chancellor. However, he was carried by surrogate Mariah Copeland, with Devon Winters as the sperm donor. The character was recently reintroduced into the storyline, with Mariah recalling her bonding moments with Dominic, including singing lullabies to him.
The Young and the Restless recasts Dominic Winters
Upon being cast in Y&R, Clark took to Instagram to share his video in the studio halls, revealing that he had completed the first day of shooting. He wrote in the caption, “Day 1 done!! Met some cool ppl and they were all so welcoming. This will be a fun time!”
Y&R executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith previously teased what fans could expect from the upcoming storyline. He said, “We’ve got a big mystery coming up with Devon and Abby that will tie into Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei), and it will pull in Christine (Christine Blair), where she’ll have to put back on her lawyer hat and help someone who’s in big trouble out of that story” (via Michael Fairman TV).
Apart from recalling her moments with Dominic in the recent storyline, Mariah also experiences a vision of Ian. In it, he pushes her to abandon her marriage to Tessa and give up their daughter, Aria. He further urges her to take what’s hers and do what’s necessary.
This could hint that the writers might set up a storyline in which Mariah attempts to get Dominic back. She became deeply attached to the baby while bonding with him during her kidnapping. She then ultimately gave him to Devon and Abby with a heavy heart.
