In Invincible Season 4, Atom Eve continues to lose control of her abilities. The reason traces back to the Season 3 finale. At the end of Season 3, Eve nearly died during her fight with Conquest.
In that moment, her body removed a mental block that normally limits her powers. This allowed her to manipulate biological matter and save her own life. After the battle, Eve and Mark Grayson celebrated their win over Conquest in a quiet, intimate moment. She used her powers to break down and rebuild Mark Grayson’s suit.
Following removing Mark’s suit it starts glowing and melting, showing that Eve’s abilities were unstable. This reveal showed that Eve can survive near-death situations but her powers come with a serious downside.
Season 4’s trailer confirms that the problem continues. In one scene, Eve struggles to control her powers and warns Mark, saying, “Things are changing, Mark, and not for the better.” However, in the comics, the real cause is not the fight with Conquest.
