General Hospital’s Parry Shen Lists 3 Reasons Behind Brad’s Return

General Hospital saw the return of Brad Cooper and this has fans buzzing as Parry Shen steps back into the role once again. Shen has opened up about why Cooper came back to Port Charles and what pulls him into new drama after months away.

Parry Shen says Britt and Lucas played a big part in Brad’s return to General Hospital

Parry Shen recently returned to General Hospital as Brad Cooper after last appearing on the show in May. His character left town after Drew Cain paid him one million dollars to expose Portia Robinson’s secret. Since then, big changes have taken place on the show.

Speaking on an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, Parry Shen explained that three reasons bring Brad back. He said, “One, word has gotten out that his bestie is somehow back from the dead; two, he needs a way to make some money since he’s out one million dollars, and as always, three, Lucas [Van Hansis] is in Port Charles.”

Shen joked that Brad likely spent the money fast on bad decisions and an expensive lifestyle. He also said returning to the role felt natural because he knows the character so well after playing Brad for many years.

Parry Shen’s return as Brad does not come without complications. Lucas has moved on and now lives with his new partner, Marco. Shen said Lucas feels happier than ever, but the news shocks Brad.

Brad believed Marco was just a short-term rebound and did not expect the relationship to become serious. While Brad struggles with the situation, Shen personally supports Lucas moving forward.

He said, “I personally love that Lucas has branched out. It’s great to see a different dynamic unfold with Van and Adrian. But I also think you’ve still got that great shared history with Brad and Lucas to still tap into.”

The actor continued, “They might not reunite on a romantic level, but having them get back to the foundation of what innately connected them in a friendship situation would be a cool side to see as well.”

While he hadn’t shared many scenes with Van Hansis in the past, the two actors quickly picked up where they left off. Fans are also excited about Brad’s reunion with Britt.

Shen promised strong and emotional scenes between them. He teased that Brad and Britt will come back with intense energy and give fans plenty to enjoy.
