Nora and Nathan’s wedding starts Season 4, but it’s just a virtual replay because everyone believes the real Nathan is dead. The digital Nathan, controlled by the Horizen, is getting ready to marry Ingrid. Nora keeps rewatching their wedding in VR, feeling upset each time.
Later, Nora finds out Nathan is actually alive somewhere. Meanwhile, Aleesha works as a spy to stop Horizen, which exploits common people to ensure the rich make more money.
Is Nathan dead or alive in Upload Season 4?
At first, the real Nathan is thought to be dead. But later, viewers find out that Horizen faked his death and kept him alive to conduct experiments in an undisclosed place. Unfortunately, these tests damage his brain a lot. He manages to escape from Horizen with the help of one of its employees, but sadly, it’s too late for him. Even though people, including the AI guy, try to help him, his condition keeps getting worse over time.
Knowing he doesn’t have much time, Nathan spends his last moments with Nora. She uses VR and replays their wedding, revisiting the moments again. They also visit other places in the simulation and share their final moments. With his last breath, he tells Nora to move on with her life and find happiness. He dies peacefully beside her.
Later, we see Nora visiting a café from her simulated honeymoon with Nathan. She is trying to respect Nathan’s last words by actually living out of the simulation. When she puts her ring that Nathan gave to her right hand, it connects with her device, revealing that it holds Nathan’s second brain scan. This scan contains all his memories, clearer than the first.
