He made the announcement during Sunday’s broadcast of FOX & Friends, where a montage of his on-air highlights was shown before he addressed viewers with his farewell message.
Reichmuth explained that while meteorology had been his childhood dream and a fulfilling second career after banking, he is now shifting his focus to his growing business, Weatherman. The company specializes in umbrellas, ponchos, backpacks, and other weather-ready essentials. Since its launch, Weatherman has donated more than $500,000 to Folds of Honor, a charity supporting military families.
“I was in banking until I was 30, and this was a second career for me,” Reichmuth said. “It was my childhood dream. And I’ve done this. Then you grow older, have new experiences, and start learning new things. I started a business, and I’ve learned so much. I built a business, and I have employees and investors, and I have responsibilities with it that matter.”
Reichmuth joined Fox News in 2004 after stints at CNN and Weather Services International. Over the years, he became one of the most trusted weather reporters on television. Beyond his role on FOX & Friends, he was pivotal in launching and expanding the Fox Weather channel, helping to bring weather coverage to a wider digital audience. His credibility stems not only from his long broadcasting career but also from his memberships with the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
Now, several of his fans and colleagues have shared emotional tributes as Reichmuth leaves Fox News. While his on-air chapter has closed, his focus on expanding Weatherman ensures that his passion for weather will continue — just in a new form.
