General Hospital’s Kelly Thiebaud Confirms if Her Character Is Britt or Someone Else

After months of speculation and numerous fan theories, General Hospital viewers finally have an answer about Kelly Thiebaud’s mysterious return. Her recent appearance has led many to wonder whether she is reprising the role of Britt Westbourne or if the show is introducing a brand-new character. In a new interview, Thiebaud breaks her silence and sets the record straight.

Is Kelly Thiebaud really playing Britt on General Hospital?

Kelly Thiebaud has returned to General Hospital as Britt Westbourne. Though not yet confirmed on-air, she revealed Britt is alive and returning to Port Charles.

“I feel so lucky to have a character that I really enjoy playing,” said Thiebaud to TV Insider. She first joined the soap in 2012 and is now on her third stint. She admits she “definitely missed” playing Britt.

Britt was last seen in January 2023 after her emotional on-screen death, which came at the hands of serial killer Heather Webber, also known as “The Hook.” The character, who had been battling Huntington’s Disease, appeared to die in her mother Liesl Obrecht’s arms, making this upcoming return all the more shocking. But eagle-eyed General Hospital fans may have sensed something was coming after Jason Morgan spotted Britt at a European airport in the July 21 episode.

This upcoming reappearance reignites fan hopes for a Britt–Jason reunion. “I loved the response from fans; it was great,” Thiebaud said of their chemistry. “That was heartbreaking when that pairing got separated… It felt like I finally found someone that I could really grow with on the show.”

Looking ahead, Kelly Thiebaud is eager to dig into new General Hospital storylines and continue Britt’s evolution. “The journey that she’s been on, and her arc on the show—from where she started to where she ended—was such a highlight to watch,” she shared. She also reflected on the personal growth she experienced during her years on the show, calling it “really wonderful.”
