This week in General Hospital, Kelly Thiebaud, who played the role of Britt in the series (and to great acclaim), will be back on screens. Of course, with Rocco finding out about the real way he was born, Britt is very much back in the conversation. But is it possible to bring Britt back to Port Charles, or is there more to her return?
Will Kelly Thiebaud play Britt or a new character on her return to General Hospital?
The spoiler teaser for General Hospital this week has already hinted at the return of Kelly Thiebaud’s Britt. In the teaser, Jason (Steve Burton) sees a woman at the airport who closely resembles Britt. The only problem in bringing Britt back to General Hospital is that she is very dead.
She had many intriguing story arcs, including the one where she stole Lulu and Dante’s embryo and implanted it into herself, giving birth to Rocco. But after her party on New Year’s Eve in 2022, she died just after midnight on January 1, 2023. It was originally Thiebaud’s decision to leave the show.
She had said about this, “As much as I love Britt and I love the fans and I love working on General Hospital, I just felt like I had to leave and go and pursue those other dreams and goals of mine, because being [on GH full time] doesn’t really allow the flexibility to do other projects.”
Because of Britt’s very public death, doubts remain about her return as Britt. She could come back as someone who looks like Britt or as an entirely new character. She may indeed be Britt, too, as soap operas often find ways to resurrect dead characters.
Either way, it is confirmed that Kelly Thiebaud is coming back. After this week, fans will know which role she is playing.
